the Dances of Universal Peace we take sacred phrases from the spiritual
traditions of the earth, link hands in the circle of life, and dance,
chant and pray for peace, joy, upliftment, and the elevation of our
consciousness. We celebrate and acknowledge that which unites us,
the breath of unity. We honor the many paths that lead Toward the
One and we come to understand and honor ourselves and each other more
deeply. As a core member of the Mentor Teachers Guild, Anahata is available for teacher training in this tradition. Specializing
in guitar and recorder for the dances, Anahata is known
for her excellence in training musicians. In
this series of walks and movement meditations we experience the energy
and wisdom of the heavenly bodies within our own moving bodies
event options--one session or a weekend that includes "dancing" each participants astrological chart. This
powerful cycle of dances is based in The Four Immeasurables--The Brahma
Viharas, one of the most important prayer/contemplations in Mahayana
Buddhism: Loving Kindness, Compassion, Sympathetic Joy and Equanimity.
It is said that the realization of these goals makes life truly heaven
on earth. These dances and tunes are simple and ecstatically to the
point. The
traditional Tibetan prayer used in this dance offering is a complete
practice of Buddhist Mind training. Embodying the qualities of feminine
wisdom and compassion as expressed in the Tantric Deity, Tara, the
dancers learn methods of personal transformation. Dressed in exquisite
silk costumes, they share their discoveries in an Offering Celebration
at the end of the workshop. The first session, open to men and women,
explores the philosophical foundation and basic movement. The following
three sessions are limited to up to 30 women who will commit to attend
all sessions and dance in the Offering Celebration. The celebration
is open to the entire community. In
this evening gathering we explore a transformative Tibetan Ritual
practice of Green Tara and her 21 Qualities through dance and chant,
imagery and meditation. An
intensive experience of Tara practice using methods of prayer, mantra,
movement and meditation. Immerse in the wisdom teachings of the Swift
Path. A series of songs and dances set to Brazilian
rhythms was created in Rio de Janiero to illustrate the 22 cards
of the Major Arcana of the Tarot. Reflecting the wisdom of the Kabala
and other profound mystery schools the dances are joyful and deep.
They can be shared in as evening intro, a weekend workshop or a
week of study, meditation and dance. Explore the connection between the Goddess Tara of the Tibetan tradition and the Major Arcana of the Tarot with your dancing body. Prema illumines the amazing relationship between the 22 Taras of the Praises and the 22 cards of the Major Arcana. Anahata puts this experience to music illustrating the energy of the Taras and the cards with Dances of the Tarot, the walking meditations of Murshid S.A.M. and Dances of Universal Peace. This work can be presented in an evening intro, a weekend workshop or a week of study, meditation and dance. event
options--evening intro; weekend workshop; week of study, meditation
and dance An
evening of chanting and dancing based in Buddhist practice--Medicine
Buddha, Manjushri, Chenrezig, Guru Rinpoche, Heart Sutra, Refuge Ceremony,
The Heart of Compassion. In
order to bring the mind to stability so that we can realize its profound
nature, we must engage in acts of purification. Using the four powers
and the profound practice of Vajrasattva, we will engage in simple
movement and chanting...a deeply meditative and healing experience
An evening introduction to a Tibetan Purification Ritual with music
and simple movement; a powerful inner experience. The
Offering Goddesses always appear at some point in a higher Tantric
sadhana. We will work with three different dances exploring Classical
Sacred Dance movement: one in the Hindu tradition to open the centers
of the body; one in the tradition of Newar Nepali Vajrayana Buddhism,
to experience the lineage of dance transmission; one from the Heruka
Sadhana of Tibetan Tantric practice. This
is a fire ritual of purification and blessing. Working with Tibetan
Buddhist Methods of Purification and Empowerment and simple meditative
dances and chants of the Dances of Universal Peace, we will participate
in a traditional Sur Puja, a fire offering of the Sakya lineage of
Tibetan Buddhism. This ritual offering invokes beings in all six realms
of existence, purifying the environment, all our relationships, generating
a field of blessing and well being. Using
simple movement, meditation, and sound we explore the power of our
mind to bring about a state of well being in the body….inspired by
the method of Chi-Lel, a chi-kung practice from China that has profoundly
healed and touched the lives of millions of ordinary people. Deeply
relaxing. Using
the powerful words Christ used to teach and heal, moving in ancient,
rhythmic patterns, we open the door to our own heart's freedom. The
life of Lord Krishna is full of delightful stories that capture the
revolutionary essence of this Hindu deity. Using traditional songs,
movement and storytelling, Prema and Anahata have woven an experience
of Krishna’s pure land that is pure delight.
Anahata
and Prema have years of experience teaching children music and dance.
They offer a workshop for children of joyous songs and dances providing
a unique opportunity for boys and girls to join in a very special
celebration of life.
Available
for any age or group. Anahata and Prema are both engaging speakers. Anahata has created 14 video documentaries based on the Dances of Universal Peace and the Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara.
