 Heavenly Music Aramaic & Other Treasures from 2nd-12th Centuries A Tribute to Archbishop Dionysius Behnam Jajjawi of the Syrian Orthodox Church Singing in his 80th Year 2 CD set $30 Including many Renditions of Aramaic Lord’s Prayer & Beatitudes and excerpts from "Shhimo" the book of weekly prayers. Archbishop Jajjawi was Bishop of Jerusalem and the Holy Land for 13 years before retiring to Syria in 1995. He is a repository of sacred Aramaic Christian music going back to the 2nd century. These recordings contain accurate renditions of many treasures that may not survive beyond the death of Archbishop Jajjawi. This CD set is a tribute to his life and work.  Vajra Sattva Dance of the 100 Syllable Mantra Anahata Iradah, Prema Dasara, Aradna Novais. CD $15 It has long been my aspiration to create a group dance to the 100 syllable Vajra Sattva Mantra of purification. This year (2006) at our Tara Camp in Brasilia a small group of students helped me succeed in this aspiration. Anahata wrote a lovely melody for the mantra, something that can be sung slow and meditatively and then can gather speed. We recorded the music in Rio. For the sake of our Brazilian students we recorded it in English and in Portuguese. The CD includes the visualization meditations as well as the mantra. |
