Tara Mandala Dancers in a stone courtyard

The Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara is a practice of Empowerment and Blessing. The music is moving and meditative. Based on an ancient Tibetan practice of praising and embodying the Great Goddess Tara, the Mother of Compassion and Wisdom, the dance has been taught and offered as a prayer to communities worldwide.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama and many Great Lamas of all the lineages of Tibetan Buddhism have given their blessing and offered their prayers that this dance be shared as widely as possible. Learn more about Prema and her Tara Dance journey.

The 21 Praises of Tara is an exquisite rendering of an ancient practice of prayer and empowerment. The music is deeply meditative, evocative and rhythmic. Taken from a traditional Tibetan Buddhist sadhana, this is the music that accompanies the Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara, a ritual offered by groups of women worldwide as a prayer of peace, protection, wisdom and capability.

The text used to accompany the Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara is an English rendering of a traditional Tibetan Buddhist sadhana written by Orgyen Dechen Chokjur Lingpa, The Great Tibetan Treasure Finder.

The 21 Praises of Tara have profound meaning; the commentaries give suggestions of meditations and reflections. The packet includes other prayers and teachings that accompany the practice of the Mandala Dance of the Goddess Tara.
